Software Pemblokir Situs Porno

Bertepatan dengan diberlakukannya UU ITE yang di dalamnya juga mengatur tentang larangan akses ke situs-situs yang mengandung muatan pornografi, maka mulai bermunculan berbagai macam software anti situs porno. Walaupun belum diperoleh kabar yang jelas, namun Pemerintah sendiri diberitakan akan membagikan software khusus untuk memblokir beserta dengan sistem kerjanya.

Yang menarik adalah, jauh-jauh hari sebelum pemerintah meluncurkan software anti situs porno, salah satu mahasiswa MIPA UGM, Ahlul Farezi telah membuat membuat software untuk memblokir situs porno dengan nama ‘Site Blocker’. Pria kelahiran Payakumbuh, 8 Juni 1985 ini bahkan juga sudah berhasil mengembangkan softaware menjadi lebih baik lagi dari sebelumnya yang hanya mampu memblokir domain situs.

“Jika sebelumnya software temuan saya hanya bisa memblokir situs porno melalui pemblokiran domain-domain situs porno, saat ini software ini sudah say kembangkan mampu memblokir situs porno melalui pemblokiran kata kunci,” jelas Ahlul, Kamis (27/3) di Kampus UGM. Lebih lanjut Ahlul menambahkan, sistem pemblokiran situs porno buatannya ada dua macam fungsinya, melalui sistem blok domain dan sistem blok filter kata.
“Kalau sistem blok filter kata, maka akan lebih banyak domain situs porno yang akan terblokir, ketika ada kata yang berbau pornografi yang diklik dalam proses pencarian, maka tidak bisa diakses dan terkoneksi,” terangnya.

Masih menurut Ahlul, software buatannya ini sudah dibuat dalam bentuk instalasi, sehingga mudah untuk diinstall pada setiap komputer. Interface sudah dibuat dalam bahasa Indonesia sehingga mudah dipahami. Sangat minimalis, panel-panel pun dibuat sedemikian rupa sehingga tidak sulit dalam penggunaan.

“Dengan menggunakan Site Blocker maka pihak warnet lebih mudah untuk melakukan pengawasan terhadap pengunjung warnetnya selama berselancar di Internet. Hanya dengan satu kali klik kata saja maka secara otomatis Site Blocker akan melakukan pemblokiran terhadap situs-situs yang tersimpan pada database,” kata penerima Anugerah Youth National Science and Technology Award dari Menpora pada 13 Desember 2006 untuk karyanya Software Site Blocker; software untuk memblokir situs porno.

Sementara itu dalam kesempatan yang berbeda, praktisi IT UGM Dr. Ir. Lukito Edi Nugroho menyambut baik upaya pemerintah untuk memblokir akses situs porno yang masuk ke Indonesia melalui Internet. Namun dirinya masih mempertanyakan seberapa besar efektiftas kebijakan tersebut dalam upaya mencegah maraknya pornografi di lingkungan generasi muda.

“Saya tidak yakin secara seratus persen upaya ini akan berhasil, karena masih ada celah-celah yang nantinya akan dimanfaatkan oleh pengguna internet itu sendiri untuk mencoba melanggar aturan tersebut,” katanya.
Lukito menjelaskan jika situs-situs porno pada umumnya sering mengupdate dan mengubah nama domain situsnya, maka piranti lunak yang akan diluncurkan hendaknya mampu diupdate. Selain itu, program ini akan berhasil jika didukung oleh itikad baik dari pemilik warnet dan pengguna Internet. (Humas UGM/Gusti Grehenson/.dna)

Air Tidak Dapat Diubah Jadi Hidrokarbon

Menanggapi polemik ‘Blue Energi’ yang sempat simpang siur di masyarakat, pada hari Jumat yang lalu di Ruang Rektorat UGM, Tim Peneliti UGM mengumumkan hasil kajian ilmiahnya bahwa air tidak mungkin diubah menjadi hidrokarbon.

Mengubah air menjadi bensin, minyak solar, minyak tanah dan avtur adalah sesuatu yang tidak mungkin. Sebab, air terdiri atas komponen hidrogen dan oksigen; dan untuk mengubahnya menjadi hidrokarbon yang non polar adalah sesuatu yang mustahil dimana sifat air yang polar sangat berlainan sifatnya dengan hidrokarbon yang non-polar.

Tim peneliti yang beranggotakan Dr Tumiran, Drs Sudiartono MSc, Dr Wega Trisunaryanti dan Dr Jayan Sentanuhady didampingi Ketua Senat Akademik UGM Prof Dr dr Sutaryo dan Kepala Bidang Humas dan Keprotokolan UGM Drs Suryo Baskoro MS dihadapan beberapa wartawan membahas Blue Energy berdasarkan konsep tinjauan ilmiah.

Lebih lanjut menurut Tim Peneliti UGM, energi berbasis air bukanlah sesuatu hal yang baru sehingga kurang pada tempatnya jika penemuan teknologi berbasis air ini diklaim beberapa pihak sebagai inovasi atau temuan baru.

“Secara hukum logis energi, konsep ini (Blue Energy) jelas sangat tidak rasional, karena air yang mengandung hidrogen memiliki sensivitas yang tinggi dimana harus diubah menjadi hidrokarbon yang memiliki sensivitas rendah,” kata peneliti Hidrogen dari Fakultas MIPA UGM Dr Wega Trisunaryanti.

Menurut Wega, pada prinsipnya air memang dapat diubah menjadi hidrogen dengan teknik elektrolisis, dan gas hidrogen digunakan sebagai bahan bakar. Sementara, proses elektrolisis dari air menjadi gas hidrogen membutuhkan energi yang sangat besar.

Hal ini dibenarkan oleh Dr Jayan Sentanuhady, menurutnya, teknologi seperti ini perlu puluhan tahun untuk ditemukan. Padahal, sebelumnya, sudah ada orang pertama yang membuat dokumentasi tentang elektrolisis ini, dr William Rhodes disekitar tahun 1960. Namun hanya Prof Yull Brown sebagai orang yang secara serius mempopulerkan metode elektrolisis ini.

Kendati begitu, kata Jayan, di dunia scientist sendiri sudah banyak pakar meragukan efisiensi proses ini karena dipandang sebagai sesuatu hal yang memboroskan. “Artinya proses elektrolisis yang umumnya menggunakan electric pulse ini masih terlalu mahal dibandingkan dengan energi yang didapatkan, akibat biaya produksi dengan energi value yang dihasilkan belum seimbang secara ekonomis,” ujar peneliti Laboratorium Konversi Energi UGM ini.

Menurut Sutaryo, pernyataan proses Blue Energy seperti yang selama ini dilansir di media telah menyalahi hukum kekekalan energi. Sehingga, tim dari UGM merasa perlu memberikan penjelasan kepada publik, agar masyarakat mendapatkan informasi yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan.

“UGM menghimbau kepada pihak-pihak untuk tidak lagi memberikan informasi yang menyesatkan tentang energi terbarukan kepada masyarakat,” kata Suryo Baskoro menimpali. Lebih jauh dikatakan Suryo, UGM juga menghimbau kepada para pengusaha dan pemerintah daerah, agar melakukan cross check bila ada klaim tentang ditemukannya sumber energi. YOGYAKARTA: Thousands of people from across Java gathered in Yogyakarta on Monday to show support for presidential candidate Yogyakarta Governor Sultan Hamengkubuwono X. Hamengkubuwono's supporters, grouped under Merti Nusantara, gathered at the Gadjah Mada University campus. Addressing the gathering, Hamengkubuwono said he was an alternative candidate.

"If you are all happy with the current situation, you can choose the incumbent. But if you all want change, please choose an alternative candidate," he said.

After the speech, the supporters traveled in a convoy of 50 buses to visit the graves of the Mataram kings in Imogiri. The Mataram kingdom predates the Yogyakarta and Surakarta kingdoms. "I'm praying for the Sultan that he will be elected president," said Bambang Sulistyo, who traveled to Yogyakarta from Banten. - JP

YOGYAKARTA, Yogyakarta: Dozens of transgender people in Yogyakarta on Wednesday commemorated Transgender Day of Remembrance, which falls every Nov. 20, by distributing stickers and flowers to people passing by the Yogyakarta post office on Jl. Malioboro.

Coordinator of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual (LGBT) group, Shinta Ratri, said the group's aim was to reduce the negative public perception of the LGBT community.

"We call on all institutions and people to stop discrimination against LBGTs," Shinta said.

During the commemorations, members of the group also presented roadside art performances.

Shinta said members of the group were protected under the human rights law, which states that all people are regarded as individuals and protected by the state.

Ironically, the group claims, the government has yet to take real action to protect the LGBT community. -- JP

YOGYAKARTA: The Yogyakarta municipality is sponsoring a citywide bicycle tour March 1 in its campaign to promote bicycles as an ecofriendly transportation solution for the city.

The big bike day is linked with the commemoration of Serangan Oemoem (general attack) on March 1. On that day exactly 60 years ago , Yogyakartans mounted a fierce defense against the Dutch colonial authorities.

The bicycle boosting is part of the city's efforts to curtail emissions from motorized vehicles to help ease contributions to global warming, Drajat Ruswandono, head of the commemoration committee, said.

At least 3,000 cyclists have expressed interest in pedaling through the event, Drajat said, adding that the participants would come from the 200 bicycle clubs in Yogyakarta and individual cycling enthusiasts.* - JP

Bank donates to Yogya school

YOGYAKARTA: A newly constructed building on the grounds of quake-affected SMPN 3 Jetis junior high school in Bantul was officially handed over to the Bantul administration Tuesday.

The building was donated by the German Deutsche Bank through the Jakarta-based Sampoerna Foundation.

The Sampoerna Foundation outreach manager, Rizal Algamar, symbolically handed over the building to Bantul Deputy Regent Soemarno in a modest ceremony held at the school.

""We hope the building will help improve the academic achievements of the students at this school,"" Rizal said.

The foundation's public relations officer, Hendri B Satrio, said Deutsche Bank had donated Rp 2 billion to help rebuild the school.

A two-story building comprising seven classrooms and two computer labs as well as a ceremony square on the school's grounds were rebuilt. The school was also supplied with new furniture, outdoor benches, two lavatories and an entrance gate.-- JP

Yogyakarta students get free education

YOGYAKARTA, Yogyakarta: Parents of elementary and junior high school students in Yogyakarta municipality are no longer required to pay tuition fees, effective this year.

The fees for 26,747 elementary school pupils and 11,728 junior high school students will be paid for by the school operational fund (BOS) and the municipal budget.

"Poor students will also get additional benefits of free uniforms and books," said Syamsuri, head of the municipal education agency.

He added there were currently 9,000 such pupils in elementary schools and 3,400 in junior high schools.

Annual fees for each elementary school pupil amount to Rp 650,000, of which Rp 400,000 will be covered by the BOS and the remainder by the city budget.

For junior high school students, the fees are Rp 1.2 million per year, of which Rp 575,000 will be covered by the BOS and the remainder by the city budget.

Syamsuri said his office had issued a memo to all elementary and junior high schools warning them to stop charging fees. -- JP
